Mahavir Polytechnic has its state of the art Library, The students and staff of the institute can access the Library facility for their various academic purposes. The Library provides numerous books in various technical subjects, both reference and text recommended by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The library is fully computerized to meet the Student requirements. The system is beneficial for them in order to search for the availability of books and for other library facilities. Library provides the students with the following:


Library has more than forty thousand books including 35 journals/ periodicals; etc. It has a separate section having different periodicals, magazines & journals.


The library is primarily for the use of faculty, students, and non-teaching employees of this Institute.

Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.

All the Students are eligible to borrow / Loan Three (3) Books from the Circulation section for duration of 1 week.

All borrowed materials must be returned by the due date. Failure to do so will result in fines. Library facilities will be withheld immediately for defaulters.


Fines will be imposed as follows:

Up to 7 days overdue: Rs. 1.00 per day

8 to 30 days overdue: Rs. 2.00 per day

31 days and above overdue: Rs. 3.00 per day

The book loan can be renewed at the discretion of the librarian or counter in charge if it's not in demand. If the loan period is extended, fines will be waived off for the next week.

While borrowing the Books / Back volumes of the Journal, the User is advice to check and ensure that the Book(s) / Journal is / are in proper condition. If any page(s) are missing or damaged, inform the same to the library staff on duty.

Avoid making pencil / pen marks, underlining, or any other type of damage to the book(s) / Journal If any such things are noticed at the time of returning the books, the Borrower will be held responsible.

In case the book is lost, the borrower has to replace the latest edition of the lost book. If the book is not available, the borrower has to pay the cost of the Book as per the Library Rules.

Current journals are available for reference within the library and are not available for borrowing.


Book Bank facility is available for students who are meritorious/toppers, as well as those from economically weaker sections, in their respective classes. Books from the Book Bank will be issued only at the beginning of each semester, and they must be returned at the end of the semester. A maximum of 5 books will issued per student.

The following rules are adopted for availing the Book– Bank facility:

1. Students are required to fill up the form in order to register for the book bank facility.
2. Students can retain the books for full semester. However, they are free to deposit a particular book earlier and take another book.
3. Students can choose books according to their preferences. The entitlement regarding the number of books a member can borrow is determined by decisions made by the management, principal, and the library committee from time to time.
4. If books are damaged or lost, student shall pay the full price of the books.
5. Books should be returned to the library immediately after the examinations are over.


Silence and Cleanliness should be strictly maintained in & around the Library.

Students must sign in and enter their name in the register each time before accessing the library.

All students must settle their dues in order to obtain a No-Due Certificate from the Library. College Leaving Certificates (LC) will not be issued until all the books /items on the student's library account have been returned.

Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises.
